Introduction to AccuBio

AccuBio is a UK based company (2022), wholly owned by Zhejiang Orient Gene Biotech, who were formed in 2005.
Our company vision is to become a great enterprise in the field of global in-vitro diagnostics, that integrates global science and technology to provide health diagnosis and support for life.
AccuBio has established a base in Alva, Scotland following the acquisition of the Omega Diagnostics facility, securing the site and 100+ jobs. We have exciting investment plans to grow the UK business, with an initial investment of £5m, to increase production of lateral flow test devices to 2m tests per week, covering different disease types and applications.
Our initial focus has been to produce COVID antigen tests and we will expand into other infectious disease and cardiovascular products. We recently purchased VISITECT CD4 from Omega Diagnostics as part of our infectious disease strategy for developing countries.

Our Senior Management Team

Colin King

Colin King is our President and has over 25 years’ experience in the Diagnostics industry of which 15 spent leading companies. I enjoy setting the strategic direction for companies and supporting management and staff to deliver on the agreed strategic objectives, whilst seeing individuals grow within the company.

Culture

Our Core Values are the foundation of our culture, and they are integrated into our Job Descriptions, our Company Induction and all our Performance and Development Review processes. We have a strong people centred culture and AccuBio is an informal and very friendly place to work.
Communication

We have regular company meetings that are hosted by our Senior Management Team who give updates on developments and the company overall. We encourage staff to ask questions or make suggestions via white boards in our tearoom or on our staff intranet. We post regular updates about the company on our staff intranet, and we also post any job vacancies, people news and any site wide information.
Social and Charity Committee

We have a Staff Social and Charity Committee with volunteers from across the business who are responsible for organising a number of events throughout the year such as MacMillan coffee morning, Halloween events, Christmas party and fund raising for Home Start.
Mental Health First Aid Team

We have a team of qualified Mental Health First Aiders who are available to support staff and have been trained by NHS Scotland to listen non-judgmentally, hold supportive conversations and signpost people to professional help.
